Acts 2v42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (KJV)
It is important to continue in the apostles doctrine (the word of God) and fellowship for the following reasons;
..Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12v2 KJV
Our minds need to constantly be renewed with God’s word so that we know what Gods perfect will for us is. If we are not renewing our mind we will find ourselves conforming to this world, God has better things for us!
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10v17 KJV
It is important to have faith in God and his promises, faith comes through the word of God.
Iron sharpeneth iron, so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverb 27v17 KJV
We are either sharpened or made blunt by the company we keep. Make sure that the company you keep is sharpening you in the ways of God.
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10v24,25 KJV
We are to be there for each other, to consider one another, to encourage and exhort in the good things of God.
What is there to repent of before God?
The simpe answer is sin.
Romans 3v23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
But I’m not a bad person! I’m not a wretched sinner!
How do you fit into the following?
Have you ever been angry wrongfully? Jesus said you will be judged the same as a murderer.
Matthew 5v21,22
Have you ever felt envy or jealousy? Paul said you won’t inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5v21
Have you ever looked upon someone (other than your spouse) with lust or desire? Jesus said that you are guilty of adultery.
Matthew 5v27,28
Have you ever lied? Paul said that you are a sinner.
1 Timothy 1v10
Have you ever stolen? You have broken at least one of the ten commandments.
Exodus 20v15
As Romans 3v23 puts it “..all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
You are guilty and need a savior so you can stand righteous before God.
You need Jesus Christ.
